Differences between NH and WI

In Wisconsin the phrase we use for something that isn't going to change is "set in stone."  In New Hampshire they say "set in granite."  When my Contracts prof said that I had to hold in my giggles for the rest of the class.  It just goes to show that New Hampshirians have pride in their granite state!

Also the curbs are made of granite...And they are not rounded like ours, they have sharp corners.  If I tripped on the curb here I would probably have a huge gash in my leg instead of just a few bruises like I got from tripping in the Cozumel parking lot.  (If you don't already know the story then I am sorry...It is a good one though!)

The area code here is 603 so I am constantly scared that I will miss phone calls because someone will think that my 8 in 608 is a mistake.

Road Construction is not done in the summer. It is done in Septemeber.  And they do an entire road (both lanes) at the same time...At least when the construction was happening on the interstate between Madison and Edgerton on the bridges they did that at night when there wasn't so much traffic...Now its done when there is the most traffic...
