I just got done with the worst week of law school and now I am hoping that I can sleep for more than just a few hours per night. I had so much to do last week that I can't even remember what I did that wasn't school related. I finished the first portion of law review on Monday and then I worked on my memos every day. I had one that was assigned Tuesday and due Thursday and then my semester long memo was due today. I also had an oral argument for Friday which I had to write and practice all on Thursday night. It looks like I procrastinated on my oral argument but I actually had to wait until I was done with my memo that was due Thursday before I could even start my oral argument outline. I was arguing that a bank was unlawfully acting when it deceptively repossessed a mentally ill man's car. That explanation is putting on my persuasive spin. However, the guy entered into a contract that said he was going to get reasonable notice before his car was repo'd and it was supposed to be sent to his address that was on record. Pretty much the bank did that but I was trying to show that the bank acted deceptively because they knew he was in the hospital and not actually at the last address on record. I ended up having to argue in class which was really fun except that the acting judge only interrupted me once to ask me one question. Usually during oral arguments the judges ask multiple questions and don't even let you do your argument as you have it prepared. Honestly I like the question part because it makes it easier to look up and engage in more of a conversation with the judge than just reading them your outline.
I am so burned out it is not even funny. I only have 4 weeks left of class and then 2 weeks of finals and then I am done with my first year of law school...
One year almost down. I can't wait!!

Hey, Alie, I thought the questions by the judge were to trip the lawyer - get you off your train of argument. Lawyers have to be quick with their minds. I need to think awhile, not nimble with my thoughts. Keep up the good work! Nancy :) :)
