I learned today in Torts that my life is more valuable now that I am a law student. My life potential has gone up because there is proof now that my life path is directed towards being a lawyer. So basically if I get ran over by a car and killed my mom and dad (if the state allows that the driver has a duty to them) can collect more money now than they could before I was a law school student. Damages are awarded for how bad the accident was yes but then they look at what the person did in their life etc.
In contracts I learned that if I make a promise it can't always be legally enforceable unless there is an actual contract and if I just say something like I'll give you my laptop its just a donative promise and therefore if I don't give you the laptop you can't sue me because there was no consideration on your part.
In Civil Procedure I learned that Save the Babies is not bound by the injunction put in place for RTL. Although I think that it should be. Save the Babies NEEDS to be injuncted! haha
In legal writing I learned all about Redbook, Bluebook, Yellowbook, Blacks book. Yes, lawyers and law students are too stupid to use actual names for books. We just call them by the color of their covers. Except Blacks Law Dictionary hasn't always been black...Confusing!
In legal research I learned how my professor is crazy and wont actually do any work. He made it very clear that our T.A is responsible for all the grading...And although my grade is a midterm worth 25% and a final worth 75% my grade can be bumped by 1/3 either way based on the discretion of the TA and Prof. So if I don't talk enough or talk too much I can get my grade dropped regardless of getting good grades on my tests...

New Hampshire is interesting to say the least. I am not a huge fan yet, mostly because I miss Wisconsin but I am sure it will get better soon. And what is with the saying "Live Free or Die"? Even if you live free you still will die! There aren't seatbelt laws here for people over 18 but I feel like I would die if I didn't wear it because people here drive awful. They are polite but they don't know the rules of the road. It is weird. They will wave you to turn in front of them at a green light where they are going straight and you are turning left but there will also be a car sitting across both of the lanes going one way trying to get into one of the other lanes.
